Default What is the Tie Breaker for the Derby Champion

I was just looking at this weekends results and it looks like Lexie jammed both Derby's this weekend resulting in a tie with Maggie at 77 points..hated to see either dog win it or lose it since they werent head to head at the end....but congrats to ALL the connections for both dogs

Be pretty neat if they had a 5 series dual just between both dogs.

both dogs arent exactly the same age, Maggie turned 2 back in April, and Lexie turns 2 I think today...I am sure Retriever Results will have the stats on how many trials each dog ran and their completion and placement average...When Maggie aged out in April I thought she had an insurmountable lead, which makes Lexie's accomplishments all the more impressive

I would think with 77 points not to many Jams to count

Pretty cool for either dog and congrats to both.

There are two high point derby trophies. The Purina Award does have a tie breaker, which is the number of jams. The Retriever News Charlie Morgan Trophy does not have a tie breaker and there have been ties with that trophy.
It was impossible, so it took a little longer to accomplish.

What is the difference in the two ? Is that the one where one award is a calendar year, and the other is from the National to the National ?

Lexie had 7 jams and 1 reserve jam.

Maggie had 4 jams and 2 reserve jams.

Congrats to both! A special congratulations to Lexie, Casey, John and Amie! Casey and Lexie spent some time with us between the last trials. It was a pleasure to watch her train and compete and see how much Lexie is like her momma Star. It was also nice meeting Casey's parents who flew out to support Casey for the last two trials. Great people and a special dog!
