Saw LOTS of geese heading somewhere else this morning.
Our wheat field is petering out, so I went on the hunt.
Found them a few miles away in a corn field.
    Game on!

    Learning the place still.
Seems with the variety of crops, their feeding changes or they have favorite fields.

Going out today for some more bird scouting. Gonna check on a pond to see if it may have thawed any or how thick the ice is, but really to watch birds to see which fields they're using .

To heck with getting up early in the freezing cold.
Trap is getting lots of experience this season.

So I meet 2 other permit holders this evening and got invited to hunt with them.
    Wow, just wow!
We had thousands of ducks swarming the dekes.
21 birds in under an hour.

Trap did great for his first time in a dog blind.

And I got my top trophy bird. Actually 2!
Gonna take the back one to the taxidermist tomorrow.

Trap was tired. He slept most of the way home.

Frankly Mark I'm getting tired of reading your posts about great hunts one right after the other.....and the photos don't help any either. Sometimes I think I've just clicked on to the same day over and over and over.....then much to my dismay.....nope, it is just another spectacular outing for you and Trap.

Just kidding....enjoyed all the reports. They are sensationally cool!
