I always spelled it "Doofus". Here's to the MJH flock, the Gooser goslings, and all the other RTF family and theirs...a very Merry Christmas and a wonderfully successful 2014!

By the way, Giblets is the oft-used callname for "Gypsum" one of our goofy rescue dogs.

Yikes! I've not tried that yet.

But in the words of Will Ferrell in "Kicking and Screaming" when he references one of the young soccer players:

    "He does look awful yummy".

Gypsum's young yet, and I doubt my family would allow him to wind up in a dutch oven. But I do believe in never say "never".

Most likely, unless we move, Gypsum will wind up lined up under the white pines and the cherry tree out back with the graves of Maili, Bubba and Luke one day. Then again, he could outlive me...and I doubt anyone else will take the time to dig them, opting for cremation instead.

I've said and written many times that the death of a dog is personal. For me the therapy comes from digging the grave, saying the prayer, and burying the body of the passed dog with a special item or two...along with a beverage container that helped hydrate me in the digging process.
