I read the book almost without stopping. I will assume the book is very close to 100% accurate since it is from Marcus himself.
I will go see the movie and hope it is close to the book.
I have a very close friend whose son was severely wounded, almost died, in Afg. (Operationkyle.com) and have a different perspective on this situation now than 3 years ago.

I also read the book. There is another book about Murphy who died in this operation and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions on that mountain. Both books are great reading. But every American should at one time in his life visit Arlington National Cemetery and watch the changing of the old guard who not only guard the unknown soldiers but everyone who died in service.

I also read the book. Looking forward to seeing the movie. Marcus, has done several interviews with his yellow lab by his side.

The book was a great read, I finished it in two days. The film does not contradict the book at all. Marvus was involved in the movie and wanted it authentic. He also has several cameos. If you liked the book you will like the film.

His previous dog was killed by thugs in 2009. Here's the story. I believe the perpetrators were sentenced to 2 years in prison...

I just got the Lone Survivor book from our library book sale; glad to hear the movie isn't different because I was wondering if I should read it first or see the movie. And Moscowitz, I agree about visiting Arlington and watching the Changing of the Guard. I have a grandfather buried there, grew up nearby and have seen it probably a dozen times or more and it still gives me goose bumps.
