I'm taking my dad (former 2nd Armored Cav, stationed in Germany during the late 60s-early 70s) to see it today. He and I both really enjoyed the book.

I went to a matinee yesterday and there was probably 65 people there and a normal matinee has 15 probably. VERY POWERFUL movie. If you don't have respect for military men and women after seeing the movie, you don't have a heart. God Bless All our military.

    X2!!!
When the credits ended, I didn't know whether to stand and applaud or simply sit in silent respect. The whole theatre just sat in silence for 2 or 3 minutes. AMAZING!!!

5 people got up and left while the photos of the actual men who died in Operation Redwing was being shown. It pissed me off so much, as does somebody talking during the National Anthem.... I read the book in 2 days, and had very high expectations for the movie. It succeeded them. I do recommend to read the book first if you have the chance, because it will clear up some things that were changed in the movie, and help you get to know who these heroes were on a personal level.

All I can say is wow. Very well done. The movie stays as true to the book as I think possible in the time allotted.
Not a word was said after the house lights came up. Everyone left the theatre in silence.

My dad and I didn't say a word for the first five minutes of the ride home.

    RIP, boys.

Great movie. Full theater no open seats. Good to see such a movie kicking butt on the normal Hollywood movies.

The end was shorter than the book. Caught me by surprise but once they started showing pics of all of the 19 that died that day, it made sense. My guess is they wanted to make sure they got their due time and cut the ending short from the book.

Our setting was the same at the credits, silence then an applause. Walking out I saw a lot of Fallen solider gear and a young man that you know he was ex military walking out with a limb. I did not notice a lot of warriors in that crowd only noticeable when we left the theater.

    God Bless our Warriors.

I really want to see this movie. However, hubby doesn't; says it is too depressing. So, I told him I was going to go see it by myself

(I have to endure watching Saving Mr. Banks with hubby on our "date night") Oh well...it's time spent together

A Texas movie theater cancelled showings of several box office hits to accommodate massive demand for “Lone Survivor” Saturday.
