Wojo I have run exactly ONE Qual. Before that I had been very active with my dog in HRC. I remember this as my most enjoyable dog event EVER. Susan Bledsoe and Hugh Arthur took the time to explain to me what to expect. When I walked up to the line in my new White coat I sat my dog and showed him the marks as if it was old hat. Dog did well for a couple of series and I was pleased I had tried something new. My dog had fun I had fun and met some new friends. Haven't had a dog that I would try again with but sure had fun doing it once......Have fun. Relax so your dog will and SMACK the heck out of it. BE POSITIVE...
My Dad said to me ."Son, a man just needs three things to be happy....A good dog, a good gun and a good wife.....Thank God I have all three

Thank you all for the advice and suggestions. As a HT guy .I didn't realize you can not talk to your dog when honoring. Much to learn ,but looking forward to a good time. It's the journey for me anyway.

this will be the hardest thing you do at the trial... When you leave that last holding blind you lose all perception of time..

What seems like several minutes is only a few seconds..

And that sick feeling in your stomach and weak knees... That's the fun part

    Enter and have fun....

May you pin all the marks and line the blinds

    Take your time.
Train with white coats in the field.
    Teach the retired gun concept.
Momentum to the blind, not progress to the blind (handle to keep your dog online, the Texas hook em horns is your fairway.
Remember that the judges are trying to determine the best dog on that day.
Most importantly! Have fun and good luck
