    Default A rough morning

This morning at 10:45 I lost my mother to cancer at age 83, it's has been almost 1 year since being diagnosed with cancer, but she went very peacefully. She was an avid dog lover and loved being around our Labs. During the summer of 2012 at age 82 she played in the park with our young Lab 'Finn' then it was with 'Dooley', she was more active with the dogs than anyone can imagine. Bushmills Irish Whiskey was her favorite drink.....I guess that's what kept her going.

I am sorry for your loss. It was very good that you were able to share your dogs and time with your mom. Life is not easy..... remember and cherish all the good times with your mom.

My condolences too. Almost lost my mom to pneumonia this fall. I think we always need our mom's, no matter how old we get.

I know what you have been through. I lost my mother in law, (like a second Mom to me) 4 years ago and then my father 3 years ago, both to cancer. Its hard to come away from that bed and really believe its for the better, but it is. The worst hurting was watching them decline. My very best to you and enjoy all the memories.

    Jim,

There isn't really much of a consoling nature when these things come about, but I was strengthened and uplifted by the courage, both physical and moral, of my parents when their time came. I think it was the same for you.

    "Nothing in his life
Became him like the leaving it. He died
As one that had been studied in his death
To throw away the dearest thing he owed
    As ’twere a careless trifle."

Sorry for the loss of your mother. Like you, I try to take mom with me when I train dogs.. My father is 84 and still rides his bike everyday.
