I lost my Mom in 2010 following a very long battle with lung disease. She passed away peacefully in her bed at home. She was 83.

I felt blessed to have had the time we had with her as she brought sunshine with her wherever she went or who she was with. She also loved dogs including my Golden Retrievers. In better days she had Bulldogs and Wiener Dogs (as she called them).

My condolences, it is difficult to lose our Mom's! As time passes you will move towards a better place and spend time focusing on the wonderful person she was and all the good she brought into her world.

God Bless you and your family in this time of healing...

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mother. She sounds like she was a lovely person. Losing a parent is a tough thing to face.

Dooley- Like you I lost my mother yesterday. She went peacefully after trying to recover from a perforated bowel that was complicated by other health issues.

As rough as today and yesterday was I am at ease. One because she was lucid enough to make an informed decision on her terms that it was time. Dad and her had discussed it a lot and each was/is aware of each others wishes. Two, they had almost completely planned the funeral service several years ago and tweeked it over the past few years. There was no making tough decisions through the fog of grief or disagreements with family on how things should be. All new how mom wanted it and thats the way it will be.

All though I plan on being a pain in my kids ass for serval more years their mother and I are going to plan for our final journey soon to save them the trouble. I urge others to do the same.
