I've seen this video a few times before. Each time it creates a different perspective predicated by big "ifs". If I were a son of one of those hunters and watched him raise, train and hunt dogs regularly every year in those conditions, I'd probably think nothing of it.
I do know that I often hunt in some very difficult situations (none not nearly as extreme as those in the video) and that many, many naive people would think I was out of my mind doing just what I do. It is all relative.
I'm sure those in the video realize they are pushing the envelop but they appear to be comfortable and hardly naive. The dogs appear to be use to it. Let's put this in a different perspective would you take your well trained retriever on a wild boar hunt or let him try and tree a mountain lion?
Now would I take my dogs to duck hunt in that surf? of course not! We'd have to train a couple of days first.
