    Default South Louisiana RC Derby/Qualifying

Due to extreme weather conditions we will be starting at 12 noon . Hope this helps lessen stress to get here with all the overpass closures.

Hey I'd like to come and just watch. Is there an admission fee? And where in Norco? I'm coming from Baton Rouge.

    Thanks,

Thanks Jay, The trail is in the Bonnet Carre Spillway in Norco right outside New Orleans.

Is there an address? Or directions to get there? I've never seen one before and I'd like to.

    Thanks,

From New Orleans or South Miss, take I-10, than take the I-310 to the Norco exit. Continue down Highway 61 to the red light at Apple Street. Take a left on Apple Street and follow it until it dead ends at the levee. Take a right onto River Road and follow this road until you cross over the levee and into the Spillway. The Hunt Headquarters will be located just off of the blacktop road in the Spillway on the Norco side.
If coming from Baton Rouge, take 1-10 exit Laplace Hwy 51, go to Airline Hwy(hwy 61) go take left go accross spillway bridge to Apple St, follow above directions.

This is from a old hunt test but this will get you there. The Qualifying is Sat and Derby is Sunday, As you know the weather is horrible and people in louisiana dont know how to drive in the freezing cold please be safe and i would keep checking on here im sure Jay, Robert, Ty or Larry will be posting event updates.

Hopefully the interstate system will be opened around 10AM.Otherwise , you may be able to go Airline highway from Baton Rouge to Norco. There are some overpasses on that route that may be closed also, especially over any water.

Was able to make it out for a little while today. Weather finally allowed us to get on the road! Got a few pics. Takes time to edit and compress them to put them up. Try to do more later. Unfortunately I had to leave before I could get dog, owner, and handler names.

    Thanks,

    Tony
