Stan why did the district only fire one teacher and give the other seven , 2-10 days suspensions for watching pornography (cartoonist photos, off color jokes, topless captained photos etc)? Do you feel that every one of those teachers should of been terminated? Do you believe the school district weighed it decision heavily on the complaint filed by the lady with the grudge against Harris (the lady who was offended by the email, yet openly discussed sexual acts among her coworkers)? I confess I only got through about 30 pages of the 57 page report.

I am given to understand that the Wis.state legislature is in the process of making that sort of conduct grounds for revocation of their teaching certification .

    The Middleton Education Association stance:
Willie Haus, an attorney representing the Middleton Education Association, said the union's position was not that Harris was blameless, but that the punishment was excessive.
The district spent $1 million in a fruitless legal appeal process.

Here is a link to the arbitrator's decision:

I don't take sides on issues that do not concern me. I believe the teacher in question made bad desicions. I would not support him.

However, once both parties agreed to arbitration, a decision was rendered, and the State Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal, the story is over.

I guess all in Wisconsin is not as Golden as we should believe. I suppose the Governor could over-ride with an executive order....JD

The one to get fired should be the district IT guy that can't come up with a filter for district computers that blocks stuff like this. The district I work in some has the best filter I've ever seen.

Arbitration decisions are treated like court rulings and governors can not over ride with an executive order.

Thats the problem with the net--without face to face contact it is difficult to get a reading on the emotional content of the author.

remember the commercials which we are constantly bombarded with
Just do it Niki,,,buy the way I have some "Just do it" pups on the way.
or" Rules there are no rules". We can think that corporate advertisement is just meant to be funny and eye catching,,,but in reality it helps cement the notions of" do what you want if it feels good"
Methods of subversion and destruction of that which is good is pretty much in full swing now and it seems like all walks of life is drowning in it.
Our mental state has become mushy and without direction,,tough to find people who take a stand against this stuff.

    John 5 :30
I can of my own self do nothing ,as I hear , I judge,,and my judgement is just, because I seek not my own will,,but the will of the father which hath sent me
John 7:16 -- Jesus answered them and said my doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
mark 16:9 -- So then after the lord had spoken unto them,he was received up in heaven, and sat on the right hand of God
I Tim. 2:5 --For there is one God and one mediator between God and man ,, the man Christ Jesus

Advertising is full of subliminal messages and telling the masses what they want to hear. Joyce Meyer has a great book called Battlefield of the Mind. We are what we think and we do have control over what we think if we chose to do so. To your point however, not as many people chose to think for themselves these days.

Congrats on the pups. Maybe you can post some pics. I just posted a pic or 2 of my new pup Cricket.
What if all we have today is what we gave thanks for yesterday?
