Default Best place to sit on a plane with a puppy?

I'm picking up a puppy next weekend and carrying it in the cabin with me. Flying Southwest so I'll be finding my seat once I am on board. Any suggestions on where to try to sit? I'm thinking near the front will get me off the plane a little faster but near the back will be closer to the restroom if she has an accident or gets airsick.

On the aisle. If they make you keep the pup under the seat, that is the best place to get air for him/her. My other suggestions are to put a bag of ice in the Sherpa bag/crate to help keep the pup cool. If you go have a layover check for the locations of "family" or handicapped bathrooms close to where you are landing on your way out to pick up the pup so you have a plan for the return trip. Take a dash for those after getting off the plane (wee pads are great).

Make sure the breeder has exposed the pup to the type of crate you are using. Also, limiting water intake prior to the flight is a good idea.

Done this twice CA to NY.

I prefer window. More room under the seat for the carrier. Also, if you let pup out of carrier (I unzip lid so I can pet her, while she remains in carrier), there is less likelihood that others will see her, disrupt her, etc.

Let us know how it goes. I haven't done this yet but considered it. I think I just like road trips too much! Haha. Flying one would sure be quicker. Anyone ever done this on am international flight? Is it allowed?

I would try for an emergency exit seat as there is more leg room for you and the pups/mesh fabric crate.

Somehow methinks her hubby might take offense to that . But inquiring minds want to know - Sire x dam at the least.

Aisle. I had the pilot and co-pilot checking to see when the puppy would wake up... Everyone wanted to see him. Very puppy friendly flights when I have flown....

Except the the outbound flight one time, a witchy flight attendant started reprimanding me loudly And rudely that I couldn't put my puppy crate in the overhead bin.... (It was empty). I just said "really? Are the bins reserved for children? It's empty, ma'am! Yesh!
