Default A Big Thank You to Avery and Purina for Farmer/Trott Seminar

I - together with numerous other RTF members - am here at Vinwood Kennels for a two day handling and training seminar sponsored by Avery and Purina.

We began with a big retired bird pinched tight to a long flyer shot into a test. Followed by a long crosswind, tight keyhole road blind. There were dogs of varying ages and skill levels run by handlers of varying ages and skill levels. As each team ran, Danny and Kenny offered thoughts on training issues, handling issues, and tips for improvement.

Now we are running a long entry water blind.

I have attended many seminars, which I paid to attend (and willingly). This seminar which was every bit as good as those - was absolutely free. Hard to beat that.

Plus every attendee got a great goodie bag from Avery, and we are going to have BBQ dinner tonight. All through Avery's generosity - with help from Purina.

A big thank you to David Carrington of Avery, Karl Gunzer of Purina, and their companies for their sponsorship.

And another big thank you to Danny Farmer of Vinwood Kennels and Kenny Trott of Horsetooth Retriever Kennels for their expertise and to Marcy Wright for herding the cats

Avery will be sponsoring a seminar with Pat Burns and Kenny Trott in Colorado this July. Unfortunately, that seminar will not be free

Absolutely no question about that! Cudos to Bob and David and thanks for your support.
"Force fetch isn't about retrieving as much as it is conditioning a dog to handle pressure, in a very controlled environment. It's about putting a dog in the position of having to figure out how to turn off pressure by finding the correct response. This translates into numerous areas in training." Sharon Potter.

Ive both worked and been a spectator at several handling seminars and concur with Ted that this is on par with all of seminars that I've previously attended. Very hands on. I really like the play by play on each handler and dog. AWESOME!!! Thanks go out to Purina & Avery.

Btw: nice job today Ted. Great seeing you again

What do the asterisks on your dogs titles reflect?

    Really???
That's a bit random. Isn't the topic over the Farmer/Trott seminar?

BTW, I did change the asterisks to bullets.

They are the reason our club is still around. Without them we would have folded long ago. Really wanted to go to the seminar this year but was not in the cards. How are things there today?
