What if all we have today is what we gave thanks for yesterday?

Wages have been stagnant since the Clinton era. This is grossly untrue for the top end of the tax bracket. There are many economists that believe the lack of growth in incomes is tied to the lack of growth in the economy. This does have some Merit since we live in a consumer based economy. I don't know that raising it at the bottom will have significant impact, growth in my opinion needs to happen in the middle, they are the ones more likely to purchase larger ticket items and start demand rolling once again.

It's because the employee has no leverage over the employer. If the employer does not have to pay more, he is not going to...that simple. So your voting has weaken the power of collective bargaining, kept the minimum wage low and now you want to blame someone....blame yourself!!!!

See the message of the Republican Party is survival of the fittest, and all of you like to think of yourself as lions. Let me let you in on to a little secret, you are not the kings of the jungle. Being a lone wolf, you are going to lose the fight, but if you join a pack of wolfs, the rest of the forest respects you.

So keep voting the way you do and keep making the real lions fatter while you pretend to be a king of the jungle, but don't blame the guy that has the back of the working man.

If you have zero skills stop blaming the employer. Min wage jobs are not meant to suport a family but rather a starting point to enter the workforce and then gain skills. Many of us were paid min on our first job but we worked to earn a higher wage even in high school.
Unions suck in general. The lousy slacker worker stays and the newbie goes. First in last out. What a crock! Why should an employer pay more than he needs to to fill a job?
If you have skills in demand you write your ticket.

Then if you don't get a raise...don't blame it on the president

Yeah, but the IDIOT OBUMMA needs to stop saying that you should be rewarded for being an inept mutiplying rabbit that should be rewarded for bad behavior! Rather he should tell people to be responsible and not be a breeding machine leeching from taxpayers! He needs to shut down more money for more rabbits!!!
He will not do that, he rewards spitting out spawn that can't be provided for by the breeder!

The president raised the minimum wage because he was catering to the union base. A lot of their contracts tie their pay to a percentage over the minimum wage.

Since some want to increase this wage why don't we just cut out the pennies and quarters. Just take the wage to $100 dollars a hour. Make it also pertain to all self-employed individuals which would have to pay themselves time and 1/2 for hours over 40 per week.

Our economy would boom and small businesses would thrive.
