Default Sorry to see Omega go

Got the word a couple of days ago that Omega Farms is going to be sold. It is a sad time for me, as I really enjoyed training there. Most of my freinds are dog people, that I met at the farm. I am afraid that people will leave the sport now that Omega is gone. Omega brought the Field and show groups together for retriever training. I will miss seeing these people.

So, the new owner has already announced all dog things will end?

No, but I see you are from Michigan. You may be familar with Omega? When parts of the farm have been sold, drain tile was put in, ponds drained and crops put in. I expect this to happen with future owner. It was explained that way to me, by someone who works for the farm. He has knowledge that I do not have regarding the upcoming sale of the farm.He told me he expects one of three or four farmers to buy property, drain it and put crops in.

That's unfortunate. It's a gorgeous property. I've never trained there, but I've attended HRC tests.

It is going to be sold at auction. Trotter just sent an email to all the trainers. Cliff is mocing his cattle operations to a warmer climate. No more tests or trials after Flyaway in May. And no more training. There are 640 acres.

Wow I had no idea. That is a bummer. They held a lot of events. I always enjoyed my time there.

That's too bad, I was hoping to run a couple of tests there this year, never been there and heard good things about the grounds

That is definitely going to impact the retriever events, it is a beautiful property with everything you could want for training. I hate to hear that is being sold.

A real shame. The wife and I always enjoyed it there. A class operation that was a direct reflection of the people running it. I imagine it's closing will have a huge impact on the retriever community in a multi state area.
