    Default Decked for Your Truck

Gonna be updating my truck soon and saw this bed organizer. This looks perfect for dog trainers and at a good price under $1K. A lot of you have fabricated something similar. Kind of eliminates the need for a $500 bed liner too. My plan is to have the "decked" organizer and in conjunction with a camper shell and place the crate on the deck.

$1000? I think the stainless ones made by Ainley are maybe a little more but all stainless with aluminum frame.

Thx Troy! I will check them out. Got salty air living near the beach, so stainless would be better.

Looked good at first, saw on Fox but the drawers will not hold a winger. Too narrow 18" vs 24" needed.

I have had a cheap home built one made of wood. I will duplicate that design with modifications in angle iron construction and a grated top for air flow. You split the structure at the wheel hubs and support using the indented 2x6 slots. This allows it to come out in two pieces, easier to pull by one person. I will adjust the drawers to 25" and a 12" wide. The 25 I will make a wood base with rollers that nests the three wingers and the 12" drawer for blinds. In the front I will place a RV water tank (12 gal) that can be filled via a side window then plumbed to the rear for use.

What would be the required height to fit 3 gunners up launchers in the drawers? I have seen the top shelf slide out so you access the kennels is that really needed? Also what bed length works the 6 1/2ft or 8ft ? Is there a company that makes those in stainless steel

I looked at those units as well, they are pretty slick. Maybe as the company grows (they just opened shop late last year) they may cater to specific use groups. As people have said a big drawback is not being able to store a winger in the unit. Also for me, they dont make a unit for small trucks (tacoma) they only do full size right now.

I recently bought a new truck and set it up much like the old one with a custom built in similar to what Joe describes. Im going to try and post pics....

Ainley, Mountaintop and some others make stainless drawers sets. They are pretty expensive, but well made. They also weigh alot. This seems like a good blend of durability, cost, and weight.
