Since I brought my pup home back in November, I have always made him sit and wait while I prepared his food. It has made him quite solid. We progressed up to having him sit across the room. After I place the bowl, I go about half way to him and call him to heel. Then I give him a line and send him with back. The whole drill, he looks worthy of a master hunter title. I mean, the snap and pop, the contained excitement and the explosive charge to the bowl is awesome. Not so much when retrieving bumpers. There has got to be a way to get him as excited over them bumpers as he is for his food. I actually entertained the idea of stuffing the bumpers full of kibble just to try it, but I don't want to go there. Any one got any ideas for this?
