    Default Field bred Gordon Setters?

Does anyone here know if there is a "Mary Howley of the Gordon Setter world"? I'm giving consideration to getting one but know very little about where to locate a finely bred working field bred litter and would appreciate any help that can be obtained.

Wyndancer kennels are located in MN, I believe they are active in trialing. Looks like they might at a litter on the ground right now.

Springset is a GS kennel in California ( I think) that I have heard about them several times from people I trust. See http://www.springset.com/available.html

Check with Al Berg at Rockey Bay Hunting Preserve. If he isn't breeding, he will know where the best ones are. His game farm # is in Outdoor News.

There is a real good old time Setter, Pointer, Spaniel trainer in Pennsylvania named Pete DeAngelis.
Pete know's who's who in the Setter world I'm fairly certain.
Here is link to his kennel Longview.
    http://www.longviewkennels.com/training.htm
    .
Pete trained the late Pete Simonds National Gun Dog Champion. 2002 ABC NGDC FC AFC Coppertop's Alderwitch.
I got my first labrador from one of his clients who had ES Ch. Alabama Trip, Open Shooting Dog of the Year and an Elwin G. Smith Setter Shooting Dog Award winner.
Anyway if it's Setters you want give him a shout.

"Smoke" Smokin Auggies Menace, QAA (2003- )(retired nut case, ask Rando)
"Simba" Humewood Simba (1999-2014)(my 1st dog)

    .
Per favore, non mi rompere i coglioni.
    Grazie

Springsett is here in Oregon. I watched Norm with Tommy run the circuit back in the 80s when I was trialing pointing dogs. Very nice dogs.

There is, or at least was - and Breck, she's sort of your neighbor: Gwynne McDevitt of Newtown Square, Pa.

Don't know if she's still in the breeding end of it or not - ran into a spot of trouble with USFWS a few years back and sort of threw her off her horse, figuratively speaking. Ms. McDevitt's grandpappy was Walter Chrysler, so she knows from getting thrown off a horse the other way too...
