I am sorry for your loss. I hope that the expressions of support expressed all here in some small way help you through any grief you may have.

So many of us (most) have or will share in the pain I read in your words...Yours ring so true to me because that is exactly how my first two labs left this world, with me laying by their sides, loving them as they took their last breath...it is a heartache that we all share as a price we pay for their undying love and devotion. Only those who love their companions get to feel that pain.... As others have said, time will soften the blow of losing them, but they are always in your heart till we ourselves cross the bridge to be with them...
Godspeed Jake....there is no pain where you went, to join all the others that carry a piece of our hearts there.

    With Sympathy,
    Earlene

Thank you all again for the support and empathy. It really does help. And thank you to mjh345 for letting me train with you today, and lend an ear for my Jake stories. The distraction was needed and being able to interact with your great dogs helped me remember the good times with my boy.

I haven't been on the forum much lately so I just saw this. I'm very sorry for your loss. It sounds like you were lucky to have each other. That was a nice tribute.
