    Default What Bird Launcher??

I am in the market and almost pulled the trigger on a dogtra but then saw a video on you tube of it only throwing a bumper up about 6 ft? I am really hoping to find something that can throw a dead duck or bumper a little further for practicing walk ups and marks, etc. Any recommendations or experience would be helpful, Thank you.

The dogtra is a box launcher that is more used to simulate a bird flushing. Zinger and GU are the most popular.

Zinger Wingers are what the guys in my retriever club use for birds and dummies. I just ordered the thunder 200 dummy launcher, so I'll tell you if I like it once it arrives! Only thing with the thunder dummy launchers is you can't use real birds.

Uh oh! Well, the Zinger wingers don't go boom, so I would look into those if you haven't already! They sell them at www.gundogsupply.com

    Best of luck!

Thunders are great, but for city dwellers you definitely need to go with a winger. Look into the mini Zinger. The size might be perfect for urban assault training. I use the ZW II mostly for my office park training and have the field trialers as well, but the littler ones might be better. I've never tried them but Zinger has a comparison chart of the throws: http://www.zingerwinger.com/productpage/chart.htm

We actually already have 2 Son of a guns, but their is only so much stuff you can carry. We were hoping a box launcher could work just for a walk up and then we would have the wingers out in the field...

Look at the Zinger Uplander box launcher. That will throw a bumper, Dokken, or a dead bird quite well, plus you can use it for flushing birds too.
