Give the AKC some credit for coming up with a new fund raiser. When they first came out with the Grand Champion program, people dragged their old dogs out to get yet another title. But then, once you achieved the GCH, that was that. So they came out with a schedule of levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) so people would continue to enter their dogs. Agility, Obedience, Rally and Tracking have been adding numbers on to their titles for years. It was just a matter of time for the AKC to seek out another well to dip their pail into.

Although my pup only has 3 JH passes, I plan to go for MH50 IF AND ONLY IF there is a free jacket at the end of the journey. I'm gonna do it for the free jacket!

Points and titles carry whatever value you, not the AKC, decide. A prime example is the Derby list/ top Derby Dog that has nothing to do with the AKC but people spend thousands, base breedings and puppy selection on these points.
New titles are created to encourage people to continue to play dog games, IF THEY WANT. Owners that achieve a certain level of performance with their dog and want to continue in that venue are provided a new goal. If you don't like the new titles don't play or play but don't apply for the title(MH50, QA2....)or try a new game.

In a few years there are going to be a bunch of MH50 NMH5 QA2 walking around and I wonder if anyone will care.
Is this some sort of new AKC title or are you referring to folks just adding the info themselves when listing their dogs?

Brad, AKC has introduce new titles. After your dog has 12 Master passes, you may apply (and pay for) for the MH12 title & certificate. And each additional pass could mean another title. Some are calling it the Lifetime Achievement Award, which would be less costly as you only have to pay once.

As this becomes more popular we will most likely see Master entry spots become even more in demand.
When it stops being fun, I will find something else to do with my time and money.
