Why not come over to Southwest Missouri and check out Bud McConnaughey of Red Label Kennels in El Dorado, MO. He really understands how to get the most out of retrievers, is completely honest about your dog's potential, has a nice kennel and running/training grounds and is just a nice all-around guy. Email: budmc@Centurytel.net.

I would look into other places but I am probably in more need of training then the dog is. For that reason I am trying to stay fairly local so I can actually learn how to run him at his full potential.

+1 for Mike Pind 573 275-0230. He has trained both of my dogs. My female is still there actually. Great guy, been in the game for years. Scott Greer is also a very good trainer. I know Chris Akin is an excellent trainer too, but I have ran a few hunt tests that some of his dogs were at. Chris didn't run them. His number 2 guy ran them. PM me and I will tell you about the dogs demeanor around his hunt test handler.

Oh and with Mike Pind, you can go there anytime you want and train with him and all of the dogs. I usually go there about once a week to train with my dog and the others.
