    Default Buying a new ecollar

About to start training a puppy, and want to get a new ecollar. I can only budget up to $300 right now.

So question is....old refurbished TT Pro500 XL, or something else that's newer, but still in my price range?

Do a search on the forum on eCollars. This topic has a lot of threads.

Dogtra 1900 & 2300 are in your price range new as is the new Garmin Delta Sport and the Einstein eCollars. I don't have experience with these but have been satisfied with the (discontinued) Dogtra 1800 for years.

Collar Clinic will have rebuild ones, Flyway G2 and 500 XL in your price range.

So which do people generally feel would be better, a refurbished older model pro500, or a new Dogtra?

I just sold my TT and bought the dogtra 3500. Warranty will be better than refurbished also.

    Dogtra. No question.

IMO id go new with a new collar instead of a refurbished one.

No complaints with my Dogtra 1900 yet.

Make sure if you get the TT that it is a G3 and NOT a G2 or battery / power source issues will be a problem. After the lack of customer support I have personally experienced, I would avoid TT.

I have had a TT G3 and G2 for over five years each and both are still going strong.

Another good place to find refurbished collars is the Bargain Cave at Cabela's. Some will even have factory warranty with them.
