We stayed at the Sunlac Inn Kevin, not 5 star but clean. May be hard to find a house for rent in that area that isn't a rat trap.

Your planned trip falls in the probable opening week of pheasant and as such you will not be able to hunt on any land controlled by the state, ie Plots, wma, school lands etc. Private land will be okay.

Non-resi waterfowl is planned to open Oct 4 if that works for the feds.

Do you really want to increase entries at the Junior Hunt Test level? Simply put a limit on entries and everyone will flock to JR and fight over how to get in and what to change to make it fair for all !!!!!

Thats also a very busy area, I would recommend you stay away from the devils lake area all together...

I honestly couldn't tell you because we hunted strictly waterfowl, but I did not see much grass land in that area.

Make sure you don't go on a full moon, don't ask me how I know this information. We had a difficult time finding private land access from 25 miles north/south between Lakota and devils lake. Watch out for the Sconnies.
