Default Looking for vet for OFAs in AL/GA

I'm looking for a vet who does OFA hips and elbows often with good results. I'm near Eufaula n east-central AL. Hoping to stay fairly close. Larger towns near me: Dothan, Montgomery, Auburn, Troy, Ozark in AL and Columbus, GA. The vet I typically use is not great at positioning and I don't feel we are getting the best results due to that; he admits it's not his strong-suit and doesn't have digital x-ray.

I would call Auburn and see if they have a vet with OFA experience (placement is key). If not, Dr. Robert Martin at SRVS in Dothan has X-rayed atleast a couple dogs for OFA. http://www.srvetspecialists.com/

Since I work at Auburn and was taught by Dr. Martin, I'll chime in that they are both good options. In the new hospital, I would call and see if the orthopedic surgery service still takes dogs for OFA. The radiology staff takes thousands (literally) of hip films a year for the surgery service, typically for diagnosis and treatment of HD. The people that position for the films are radiology technicians and there are several board certified radiologists on staff (ie, the same type of people that read OFA films), so all their job in the hospital is purely to obtain excellent radiographs of whatever body part needed. They also do all the OFA radiographs for our detection dog (Vapor Wake Canine) program. Dr. Martin is generally just an awesome surgeon! I have no doubt in his competency to get good OFA films.

There may also be some GP's in the area that do them I just don't know of any off the top of my head.

Thanks. I'll check into these recommendations. I've used Dr. Gardner a few times and love his staff. Gardner and AU did a great job with my parents' dog with Pythium. Gardner said he just doesn't do many OFAs- but that doesn't mean he is not perfectly capable. And I didn't know if AU did these more "routine" types of services.

I forgot to add one of my buddies took three dogs to Dr. Hines.
He got all three of his dogs done in one hour without sedation, two were excellent and one was good.
Dr. Hines knows how to position the dogs and has digital X-rays, he's a guru, better use him before he retires.

X2 on Alpharetta Animal Hospital. Very pleased with Dr. Perales, he's x-rayed 5 of our dogs. Worth the drive from Chattanooga.
