here is a basic list I put together years ago, there are other things that can be added

First aid kit for hunting and training

1) Water tight, container to store everything in
2) EMT gel, for minor cuts and wounds
3) Super glue, to be used for larger cuts in an emergency
4) Gauze roll and sponges, for wrapping wounds
5) Vetwrap 3inch roll if possible, can be used to wrap wounds, but do not make too tight
6) Tape, one or two inch to stabilize wraps
7) Cotton lead, can be used for a muzzle or tourniquet
8) Saline eye wash, wash out any debris while hunting
9) Neosporin ointment, or any antibiotic ointment
10) Bandage scissors, heavy duty
11) Thermometer, to check temp for hyperthermia or hypothermia, normal temp 101 to 102.5
12) Hemostats, in case you need to clamp a large bleeding vessel
13) Betadine or Nolvasan scrub/solution, for cleaning wounds
14) Small bottle of rubbing alcohol
15) Small flashlight or LED light
16) Simple first aid book

The list above is nice. I'd also add a product called Cut Heal. It seems to work wonders for small cuts and scrapes keeping them clean, dry and healing without infection.

Some time back Dr Ed posted a complete list. Search

Disposable staple gun. You can get one from your vet. It cost me about $15 or $20. I seem to have Kamikaze dogs and I'm sure I'll use it...

Muzzle, in case you're dealing with a dog in pain who doesn't realize you're not the source of the pain!
