Default Every pup Should have a Boy - New Pup

Well it has been forever since I have posted to this site... the names have changed a lot...LOL

I have been lurking though and reading. I just never really have anything to add to posts... but I thought I would share my excitement and the new pup with y'all here. My son is 14 now, with all the traveling with baseball, I have put off retriever training like I use too... I do have a dog, so after this years duck season - I decided to run him in HRC event "Season" since now there is a local club holding test close to home. So right after hunting season this year - I made the effort to get him ready for that... and during that month, my son Tyler helped out a lot.. One day coming back from the field, he stated that he would like a pup, so he wouldn't have to be the bird boy all the time...LOL - So we made a deal about him reading a few training books, etc...etc... he meet me straight up and even built a kennel.. well this past weekend was his birthday and to his surprise I lived up to my end of the bargain - (he didn't have a clue that I had a deposit down on this pup for over a month..hehehe) - I rank giving him his first pup - right there with "the first time a father plays catch with his son" - - - Anyways I hope y'all enjoy and don't mind me sharing.

He fell in love with her at first sight! but how could you not....

    His Kennel Project

I gave him the pup Friday(18th) took him two days of struggling to come up with her name... I think he did well..

If my son gets from his pup what i did from this yellow dog - His heart will be full! I still miss my ol' Hank.

I got to toss in a pic of my boy Lincoln - I guess I owe it to him, for putting the idea into his head about wanting his own dog...

X2, It doesn't get any better than training your first dog. No matter how many you've helped with. The first is always the most special.

Love this; Tyler must be a great kid, throwing birds for your dog and building a kennel, great idea for him to have his own puppy. His smile says it all, you done good Dad. The hunting memories and adventures you, your son and your dogs will have will be the stuff of legends.
