Default Does anyone have pictures of roofs over outside kennel area?

    Hi

I have ten runs on a 44'X14' cement slab. These runs are outside. Each run has a indoor area for the dogs, which has central heat and air. I am looking for ideas on putting a roof over the out door runs. Location is michigan, snow is an issue.

Here's a look at my kennel. The runs are 14' long. Four of them are 5' wide and the nearest one (for puppies or multiple dogs) is 8' wide. As you can see they have indoor runs to get out of the weather as well. The 6' overhang is part of the building. It's enough to give the dogs shade and shelter, but also allow them to lay in the sun if they wish.

    Hope this helps.

Appears to be a gutter and down spout in the front right corner of the picture if you look really close. Nice set up.

What about snow coming off the roof and piling up in the kennels?

Very good point. When I said it was similar to mine, I meant the runs and Guillotine doors. I am debating putting up a shingled roof, or a metal type roof.

JT, go for the metal roof. Having had both metal and shingles, metal is far superior.

My current runs aren't indoor/outdoor...dogs are completely inside during winter/snow months, and I've been using shade cloth over the outside runs in summer and a misting system. This year I'm building a metal pavilion over the outside runs (will be 16 x 60) with open sides for airflow. I don't have a picture of my old setup up north, but it had a shingled roof which didn't let the snow slide off as easily as the metal. My existing building is all enclosed and heated, pic below.
