Default Dear Fen : Your pups have arrived

it was a tense, emotional day but Thanks to some quick action by owner Ted Miller and puppy litter house mom Kayla , Fanny had her litter sired by FC AFC Fen Wizzard

Ted texted me around noon to let me know that puppy # 1 was a female , but puppy #2 was stuck in birth canal and did not survive the ordeal as did the subsequent puppy, but Ted kept his cool and took charge of the situation and got Fanny to the Vet and were able to extract the rest of the litter

Net results : 3 males , 3 females....Fanny and the kids are doing fine, was a sleepless night for Ted and the kids, but the report this morning is that all survived the evening and are nursing..

Fanny is special to us because she is one of Nola's kids and having lost her last week at age 13 it made us all remember her and the litters she produced..Grandma would have been proud

TM said of all the births he has witnessed, this by far was the most stress filled

Mr Beitler (Fen's original owner)you can pick up your new puppy in 48 days

Will post pics if TM learns how to use a iPhone

BIG fan of Fen Wizzard. I think he's way underrated as a stud. Good luck with the litter.

Fen is a wonderful dog. I was training with Eric when Fen was with Eric.

Congrats on the litter, and I am sorry that happened. Spanky's first puppy born January was stuck, but I was able to "get in there" and get him out. Was definitely a bit terrifying!

    Congrats on the litter!

Pulling stuck puppies isn't for the faint of heart. I delivered a litter about 6 years ago. It was Q's first and unbeknownst to me she had a stricture. It felt about like a zip-tie in her birth canal; a narrow tough band of tissue. Of course it was 3 AM on a Saturday morning. I described pulling that first puppy as being like trying to pull a bowling ball through a key-hole! The first pup didn't make it, but the rest were fine.

Delivering puppies can be a stressful time. Doing it again around May 20th. Wish us luck!

Disclaimer : This is not my litter...the owner Ted Miller, is my hunting/fishing buddy in Idaho and my brother's occasional training partner...the little girl in the picture is the daughter of the gal that is raising the pups for Ted...the little kid is cute...the pups/Fanny are in good hands, Kayla raised another litter of Fanny's before
