I would love to see how many Hispanics actually do vote. If the Dems can bus them in the bigger cities to get them to vote why can't the Repubs do the same?

National cards are fine and jim dandy, however driver licenses in many states are given based on proof of residency. If all states would adopt that then it would be much easier to sort things out. Renew the current licenses but any new license should be accompanied by proof of residence. Pretty easy to sort out from there on. Will some fall thu the cracks - yup but nothing in life is perfect.

He did this with the agreement to the fence which still has not happened. The R's have fallen for the later border security card multiple times. When will they wake up?

Proof of residency and proof of citizenship are 2 entirely different things. Proof of residency only requires a phone bill, utility bill in that person's name to get a license. they could still be an illegal alien but have utilities in their false name.

You are correct, I meant proof of citizenship. Sorry no sleep last night!

Dan where in the bill, that granted amnesty to millions of illegals, is the fence you are talking about addressed?

There seems to be a number of myths going around in Republican circles. One of them is that illegal immigrants vote en masse and they vote Democrat. There is no evidence to support that myth. Illegals are going to keep their heads down. There is nothing that will get them a bus ticket faster back to Guadalajara if caught voting. They come here for economic reasons and personal safety, not political.

Second, there is a myth that the Democrats encourage more illegal immigration so that they will vote Democrat. Obama has repatriated 2 million illegals so far. That is 2 million voters by Republican mythology. Illegals take away American jobs, which in turn ticks off all those Democratic unions. Maybe it isn't those Democrats who are encouraging illegals after all. It might just be all those Republican business owners looking for a cheap labor source they can keep in perpetual servitude, who are encouraging illegal migration.

Let's look at the Hispanic vote which the Republicans are so fearful of. With the possible exception of the Cuban community, they have been totally tone deaf in approaching Hispanics. They won't even sit down to break bread with them. Instead they glorify hardassed sheriffs from Arizona who will gladly clap anyone with a Hispanic surname in the slammer. Hey guys, that Latino constituency can be won over. A session in charm school just might do it for ya.

Your assertion of "myth" has no backing in the voting demographics from any source R or D. To think any illegal is fearful of deportation in this day and age is laughable. How much time have you spent in a border state? How many Border Patrol have you discussed this with? Your first paragraph and your third seem to be in conflict, do Hispanics not vote D, or do Rs do a bad job communicating with them?

R's do a bad job. Non citizen voting will draw attention as quick as anything else besides a felony. But, I will go along with proof of citizenship anyway. That should be basic.

I dont know what it's like there in MN, but here in VA, in particular Northern VA, during the elections the dems are very openingly active in getting the immigrants to the polls. They ask no questions of them if they are citizens or not. They pickem up and take em to the polls from the day laboror stops. Those are everywhere here, you can find em at most any conveinence store, shopping center parking lots etc, they're everywhere. The towns of Alexandria, Manassas, Fairfax, Sterling, Falls Church, and Herndon have very large populations of illegal immigrants. They are safe havens. You would think your in a border town when you travel in to Northern VA.

Some prosecutions might change the practice. Where are the poll challengers?
