Hopefully the injuries aren't as bad as they looked yesterday although Altidore is probably done. Anytime your running and then grab your hamstring after no contact has been made...that's never good. Deuce will look like he got in a bar room fight with that broken nose to! LOL
Agree...Bradley had a terrible game and MUST play much better. He's one of my favorites and was in such good form in the runup so who knows why he was so off.

Injuries could be a killer. Need Besler back in D and losing Jozie hurts. Dempsey will be fine..he's a tough mutha.

The poor officiating which borders on game fixing along with the fake injuries makes it largely unwatchable for me. I played soccer growing up, understand the sport, respect the worldwide fan passion, and admire the athleticism but other than the US games I won't watch a minute more (not enough Euro envy I guess). We'll be out pretty quick, our team doesn't appear to have the endurance other teams do.
You obviously don't understand the sport as well as you think.

Ghana is one of the most athletic teams in the world...it was no surprise they controlled possession, the pace and ran circles around us, that was expected by everyone...especially after our early goal and the added injuries.

At my FIFA referee course I was taught that if an alien would snatch the player in an offside position (no defending team player between the the side with the ball and the goalie) and the play continued without him/her, it is not offsides.

If a player flops and screams in agony when you look at him you get a yellow card. If you actually touch the player and he flops and screams in agony, you likely get a red card. Two yellows used to get you a red but don't know anymore. I do know from my high school days if you yank the yellow card out of the ref's hands and tear it up, you get a red card

    Perfectly clear now!
Just for the record I have very fine dogs. Some of the best in the whole country....or at least on my own block anyhow.

You are right. I was sticking to the basics. You are also not offside even if you are offside but you don't interfer with play (by touching the ball or interfering with another player) or are snatched by aliens. Or that you are still offside if you are offside but come back before receiving the ball.

The gist of it is that the rule was made to keep folks hanging back behind the defense waiting for an easy goal.

We are big soccer fans. I had the pleasure to see two world cup games from the stands many years ago. The first game was Brasil vs Russia. I bought the Brazil T-shirt after the game. That year Brazil won the world cup and I had that T-shirt until it fell apart. While soccer is my favorite game, my family is into most sports.

The substitute goalie for the U.S.A team was my daughter's neighbor and when we went to visit her two years ago we met him and his family at the block party and then we went to watch him play.

Sorry, but if I wanted to watch grown men run around for 90 minutes trying to score, I would just take my buddies to a bar and buy their drinks...
