Does Petplan insurance cover a C section if necessary?

Title pretty much says it all. Does anyone know the answer? I'm not talking about a scheduled C, but an emergency one. Would this be deemed a "per existing condition" or an "unexpected emergency"? I looked on their website but wasn't able to find anything. Thanks!

They covered one for me. It is in the policy.

yes. This is as stated under policy exclusions:

p. Costs arising out of or related to:
i. Breeding.
ii. Pregnancy.
iii. Whelping or nursing.
Except costs of any complications arising from these items.
However, for coverage to apply, the date of breeding must fall
after the first fourteen (14) days of the effective date of your policy

Awesome! Thanks ladies :) I am hoping this isn't necessary, but always want to be prepared. I have had a policy on all my pups since last October so I'll be good there!

I called them a couple of days ago for just that question. Yes it is covered if it is a medical emergency. They suggested getting pre-authorization(? not sure if the right term)) prior to whelping.

pet Plan covered emergency C-section for me when complications were identified. It's all in how the vet writes it up with the diagnosis and submits it.
