His story has been shared on here (RTF) since 2001 when I was so excited about getting him until now. I am a better person because of the path we went down together from New York with the Polock ,to Ohio with Susan, to Arkansas with Dman.. and all points in between. I gained the most precious thing a man can have and that is good friends. Maxx got the thing he loved most and that was a DUCK, Pheasant or anything I told him to retrieve. He even one time retrieved a fawn without even a wet mark on it...The thing that stood out to me was the size of his heart..........big as Texas. He told me it was time to go yesterday when he would not pick up a bumper....he just looked at me and I KNEW.
    Otey,

    You served each other well. Honored to have met you both and I wish Maxx Godspeed. I hope you find healing in the memories.

    Best,

    Thinking of you Otey. It is so sad when they have to leave us, hoping the good times and good memories will comfort you.

    Otey, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss of Maxx. It's so hard to let them go, but sometimes the greatest gift we can give them is to replace their pain with our own. {{{hugs}}}

    Otey, I am very sorry to hear you lost your Maxx.....it is the hardest part of our lives with dogs to let them go...just remember God only gives us a limited time with them. I know your time with Maxx was the most special and he will ALWAYS, be your boy....you loved each other and that is the way it should be.

    I also have always thought that God made dogs lives so short so we could love a lot of them! They love one master, but we can love many......

    I hope your heart heals with time and you stay strong until you can see Maxx again.

    With Sympathy,
    Earlene

    I know exactly how you feel. When I took Maggie to the vet for the last time, he said "Bob, this is the last best thing you can do for her". You have my heartfelt condolences.
