I have heard nothing new locally on the shooting in SLC.
I think it's still a pretty hot topic around here and there internal investigation
won't be compleat until it quiets down and can be swept away.

SLC Police Chief said the internal investigation would take four weeks (or a month). It is overdue.

Just had another dog shooting in Coeur D'Alene Idaho. This time it was a black lab inside the owners truck. The original statement given was it was a pit bull type lunging at the officer. CDA police were then given a Dept of Justice canine education video.

I'm surprised no one had mentioned this one:

Missed the dog and shot a boy. But apparently, according to the police statement, guns actually do the shooting "The deputy's gun fired one shot, missing the dog and hitting Corbitt." The gun must have been a bit jittery and made a poor choice to discharge itself.

In the CDA incident the policeman and animal control identified the dog as a pit bull. Vet had to correct them . A picture of the dog was included in the article. CDA better get ready to open the city coffers. At least in this incident the policeman was reported to be distraught about the mistake he made. http://www.examiner.com/article/poli...g-investigated

    Edit:
Police Chief apologizes to dog owner. This is a tragedy but police department doing all the right things to prevent future events of this nature. I had a positive impression of the police chief.
He and the Sheriff in Texas understand policing and their relationship with the community.

Still no SLC Police internal affairs report. It has been one month and 10 days since the incident. Yet according to Sean he has been offered a generous settlement by SLC. He has turned the offer down for a number of reasons.

This one is really bad. I am glad it is going to court.

See link in post 18. When you read the article, on the left side it has a box with related stories. These are in bold red and are links to the original incident and all in between.
