    I this an undesirable trait? And why? It is just something I see her doing and I thought it was interesting. None of my other labs have ever done this.

    I think it depends on the goals and purpose you have in mind for your dog. For some it may be undesirable while for others it may be the primary trait that is bred and trained for. To each there own. There are some fantastic dogs in the highest level of all dog games that have "point" in them.

    Congrats on the pointing pup! I hunted behind a pointing lab a couple seasons ago and I was impressed! There's a lot of backlash about pointing labs, but IMO it's an awesome trait!

    Seems liked an added bonus that some Labs have. As long as pointing Lab owners aren't trying to completely replace the spot traditional pointing dogs have, I don't see the problem. Their name is Labrador Retriever, but they are well known multi-taskers, working as search and rescue, bomb sniffing, tracking, guide, assistance and therapy dogs, why not celebrate a few that point too?
