I know this has been discussed here before but I'm in a bit of a pinch. What do you do when the stud is not that interested? He sniffs, licks, and then just walks away. Thanks

This thread is such fertile ground for so many jokes but the OP has a real world problem. Has the male been bred enough to know when to whisper sweet nothings and when to turn ESPN and get a beer? Libido is not universal and some males are intimidated by confident and powerful females. Has the female been bred before? Is she flirtatious and receptive or fearful and angry? How does she react to his advances? There is much to be evaluated before rushing off to the veterinarian and having a stranger expose his penis and thrust it into a latex sleeve hoping to get a good semen sample and then hoping that the bitch has ovulated and that the ova have mature enough to be ready for fertilization. Sometimes dog breeding is much more complicated than our first childhood experience of seeing two dogs stuck together in the front yard.

This is too funny not to share ... Who says dads can't think on their
feet? And the innocence of little kids ....

A little girl asked her Mom,
"Mom, may I take the dog for a walk around the block?"
Mom replies,
"No, because she is in heat."
"What's that mean?" asked the child.
"Go ask your father. I think he's in the garage."
The little girl goes to the garage and says,
"Dad, may I take Belle for a walk around the block?
I asked Mom, but she said the dog was in heat, and to come to you.
Dad said, "Bring Belle over here."
Being old school he took a rag, soaked it with a little gasoline, and
dabbed the dog's backside with it to disguise the scent, and said,
"OK, you can go now, but keep Belle on the leash and only go one time
round the block."
The little girl left and returned a few minutes later with no dog on the leash.
Surprised, Dad asked, "Where's Belle?"

(YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS!!!)

The little girl said, "She ran out of gas about halfway down the
block, so another dog is pushing her home."

If you aren't laughing... You aren't living!

Turn them loose together for a bit.................let them be dogs.

Then leash her up, and try to keep him away from her for a bit...............might amp him up a bit.

Even dogs like foreplay.

I know it always comes back to "progesterone test", but theres a reason. Its the best way to get answers as to where she is in her cycle.
From that, you can decide what is your next step. good luck.
