27 August 2014 AP by Erik Schelzig "GM to move Cadillac SRX production to Tennessee"
A ceremony took place @ Spring Hill , TN (outside Nashville) to announce that GM will be moving Cadillac's production from Mexico to TN. This will mean about 1800 jobs as a part of a $350 million investment. A current engine facility located there will employ up to 350 w/an additional $185 million investment. These additions will add to the current 2,300 Spring Hill workers. These workers will be members of the UAW.
Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) attended. Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) did not attend.
The article goes on to state that Corker has continued his fight to keep unions out of TN and especially as a way of obtaining foreign automotive assembly plants.
Comment- lets see who lasts longer - Corker or the UAW?
