    Default Ear...again

Long, pretty difficult weekend with my pup...Sadie's ear infection (simultaneously 3 different bacteria including an antibiotic-resistant staph identified after a lab culture) came back with a vengeance week before last, and had improved only marginally this week. Yep. Another vet visit (3 in 3 weeks), 4th different antibiotic, 2nd deep antibiotic injection in the ear. But does she complain? Hell, no. She's a tough, trusting, sweet spirited, loving little (80 lbs. = "little"???) dog. Wish her luck...we go back to the vet again this week for another follow up.

Just a quick edit: our vet is fantastic, but I didn't realize I'd be sending her future children through college!

Before that happens the rent, utilities, insurance (property, liability, and malpractice), salaries and employee benefits, drug costs, property maintenance, continuing education expenses for veterinarians and staff, and incidental expenses must be paid. Your veterinarian is the worst compensated professional you pay. Dog ownership is optional so if you don't like the price don't own a dog.

Good luck Sadie! Tell your dad we had a client who said you can stick onions in your ears to help with infections. Just don't eat them! Not exactly sure how it worked for her but I know she did put him on Zyrtec and that has helped according to the update at the last grooming appointment.

Food allergies are common reason for chronic ear infections.
