What kind of dog doors are you all using in your indoor/outdoor runs? In the process of building a house and having runs set up in the garage. Keep in mind I live up north don't ch ya know so I need something to keep the elements out. the Garage has in floor heat so heat loss shouldn't be all that terrible. I would also like a door system that can be closed in bad weather or when we leave.
I have the Gundog doors and they work great and are durable. I have had mine for around 7 years and still good as the day I bought them. Bought mine on clearance, don't remember where, for $49 regular price $75. Just checked Amazon and they are running around $100. You could also check out the metal doors from K9 Kondo.
Pet Doors USA. Go to dogdoors.com. Expensive, but lifetime warranty very high quality & great customer service! We have a 30 run indoor/outdoor boarding kennels & they get a lot of abuse. In 2 years we had 1 malfunction & company had a replacement on the way within 48 hours. Didn't have to send the faulty one back before they replaced it.
Troy, I have 14 of the K9 Condo doors going on 10 plus years. The rubber grommet wears out as the hinge, (I was always going to fab a pillow block bearing) And I also made my own gullotine doors to lock them in on extreme days/evenings. I can shoot ya a pick if you want.
K9 Condo doors are what I have also. Just replaced my first 4 after nearly 12 years. You can now purchase extra rubber washers as well. Can be locked open or shut and rolled edges keep from pinching pooch's tail.
Yeah, mine will be on a north wall so I think I'm going to go with the gundog doors. Brad up here has had them on two kennels and he said he'd use them again. They make noise but only if you have a pacer that finds the door enjoyable to go in and out of constantly.
We have 12 of the Gundog doors in constant use. Little to no maintance- you heard about the grommets.
Chewproof and never had a dog tear one up
Ours are underroof so no weather issues.
Our kennel is heated in the winter and has the ability to have Ac in the summer ( dont laugh now)
The dogs are relaxed and enjoy the kennel set up.
Been discussed here before but if you can have the kennel where they cant see the house/ lights etc. you may save some noise
Dk
