Has anyone else had any issues programming a bumper boy? I got a derby double and had to replace the transmitter. I found a new transmitter and it seems to be working fine. I go thru the steps to program the new transmitter to the old receiver and I can't get anything to happen. Anybody else have this issue?
Do the receiver lights respond when you activate the receiver? I changed mine to the Hawx electronics and don't remember exactly how the old electronics work.
Could it be a wiring, servo problem? Do the sound or motion ports respond?
I noticed my old transmitter is the old style with the battery pack inside of it. My new transmitter is the one that has the 9 volt battery compartment right on the back cover. Would this make a difference?
I don't think it makes a difference. The old transmitter was a 9 volt and if I remember correct, the battery was inside the unit. The Hawx transmitter is not compatible with the old electronics.
Correct my original transmitter had the actual battery inside of the unit. Looks like 5AA glued together. The new one I got just uses a standard 9v battery.
You new old electronics has a different program then your old old electronics. They will not match up. You need to see if you can find a 2 or 4 shooter receiver for the old style electronics. I am surprised their are still electronics as old as your still around. I haven't seen them in 10 years or more.
That's what I'm thinking. My old BB transmitter was old. Like early issue and it had a 9v battery.
I got BB's right after they came out. I didn't have them long enough to need to see what battery was in the transmitter. They sent a transmitter and 2- 2 shooters. Six to 10 months later they sent new everything and I returned the original equipment.
I had the original elec and then upgraded but well before the Hawx, My transmitter battery now has a 9v rechargeable. I do not remember the first one.
If they are different generations then it will not work. Does the transmitter light up when you press the buttons??
My transmitter was getting holes in the front from pushing the button for so many years. Found a different transmitter and instead of trying to re-program I just changed the guts out. I was afraid I would have to convert everything to Sportdog elec, as I knew the transmitter was going to get water in it and fail. Now with a new body for the transmitter I should be good until I am done training!
Yep, that's my story and I am sticking to it!!!! The first transmitter lasted me for about 15 years, still have my receipt for 2000.
Doubt if I will still be training in another 15, so I guess my age is part of that confidence. LOL
Looks like I might be swapping over to a tri Tronics receiver. I saw somewhere on here where guys were doing that swap
