When I had similar issues, Collar Clinic told me to blow the button out with compressed air to make sure all the grit/dirt/hair is out of the picture. If that didn't work, they said might just have to live with keeping it on the charger until you are ready to train and just leave it on 24/7 to at least buy a little more time. You could remove the battery to turn it off, and if you couldn't turn it back on seeing as the conductive material under the button is probably worn out there is a way to "jump start" the collar...
Hmmmm, I have one that's difficult to turn "on." I thought the on/off button might be worn or something, but haven't called yet. If there's conductive material under the rubber "button," is it repairable? Need to get this fixed while we're in the slow season.
I saw in a pointer forum the collar clinic is where to send because TRI Tronic doesn't honor warranties or repair TRI Tronics just Garmin. I just read this on a forum so not saying it's true because I know Garmin bought the TRI Tronicz so they aren't family owners anymore
