Hey everyone. In short, driving to Wichita Falls on Sunday (tomorrow). Looking for reputable boarder. I'm looking at the standard boarding places via the internet, but figured I'd reach out on here as well. Length of stay will be Sunday-Friday. 20 Month old BLF that is current on all shots and has been boarded before.
If you know of anyone, please pm, call, or text (701) three six eight 8548.
Man...why would you trust your dog for 5 days to someone you really don't know...you must be from a different world as I would never reach out on SM for a place for my dogs even for one F>>> hour!!!!
Thanks for nothing. But I would hope you could gather that I reached out on here in the hopes of finding a reputable breeder/boarder. I'll be sure to pass along your concern to Uncle Sam as he sends me on my military duties. Over the past 18 years, I've had to find short term resolutions, to include finding a good trainer while I was in Afghanistan and it worked out great based on the recommendation of reputable dog people. I know it's nice to live in one area for the majority of your life so you know everyone. Well, I don't have that luxury.
Man, a person can't do something as easy as asking for a little help on here. Wonder why folks don't want to ask or say anything. Thanks for judging me and my situation from your trolling perch.
I'll give it to you again...read your post....5 days....why not a Vet or someone you know....don't give me that military BS...been boarded before then go back there....looking for a hand out???
Mike, thank you for your service, and if I weren't a zillion miles away I'd be glad to help out. Hope you found something suitable.
Terry, your response is disappointing. Millions of dogs get boarded every day, and training dogs go off to board at trainers places....and someone in the military who doesn't have the luxury of staying in one place for very long has to constantly form new connections. Mike wasn't begging for a freebie...he was asking for recommendations of good places to board in that area. That was pretty clear.
I too, thank you for your service Mike, and completely understand why you would come here for a boarding reference. I don't know a specific place but will send you a pm with Charles Bearden's contact information. One of the finest people in the FT sport and he lives in Wichita Falls.
Here is where I come from...my dogs are like my child, actually I have spent more time with one of my labs than my 38 yo son...if i had to board a dog I would certainly do all necessary vetting to be comfortable about the guy.
I have been scammed, not with dogs but be careful.
You put your dog with a guy and all is cool....you come back and the dog is gone...he says ran away... then what do you do...
ALL CITIES HAVE VETS THAT WILL BOARD DOGS FOR 5 DAYS....AVERAGE $ 15-20 PER DAY....SURELY THE MILITARY WAGES CAN HANDLE THIS!

Weird advice coming from a guy who boards dogs. http://www.duckdogkennels.com/boarding.htm
If this gentleman was coming to Chandler, would you be advising against using your facility? How often have you seen dogs stolen from boarding kennels?!?
You're not making any sense and you're certainly not helping the guy.
Terry,
I own and operate a boarding kennel, and happen to take a great deal of pride in the care that we give our clients dogs!
Mike, thank you for your service! If you ever need a kennel in the Midwest , please give me a call.
I stepped away from this thread because I had nothing kind to say in reply to you Terry. You've made a lot of assumptions on me and my entire situation. Then to take a pot shot about me and my military wages and pay. I don't want a handout. I was using it to qualify my experience in needing to reach out for assistance via RTF.
Terry, you've taught me a very valuable life lesson as you implied. I've made a lot assumptions in my life, both professional and personal and I admit, my biggest fault in those assumptions is to judge and see negative first. You taught me how inconsiderate I probably have been to those folks. I'm embarrassed that I may have come across as you did to me. So although that's not the lesson you intended to teach me, thanks.
To the all others, thank you.
I consider this done and like many other originally well-intended threads, it can reside in the bowels of the RTF repository, with my name attached to it. I feel pretty good about how I'll be viewed when future RTF'ers read my name, next week, next year and 5 years from now.
Would you like to borrow a shovel so you can dig that hole deeper?
OK Ed I have the Track Out
