    I didnít want to muck up the beautiful SRS thread so I pulled this out for a fresh thread. Lets say you are on a committee, and after discussing the 3 elements noted here

    1) Whether the charged conduct has been proven;
    2) Whether the conduct was prejudicial to the best interests of purebred dogs, AKC events, or The American Kennel Club; and
    3) Whether the charged conduct occurred in connection with, or during, an event.

    All the committee members vote yes to all 3 with the exception of one committee member who votes no to all 3. By rule, the majority wins and the next steps of suspension and reporting take place. What is the likelihood that AKC will uphold the majority vote and actually suspend? Does the AKC require a unanimous decision? What has been peoples experience with this? I have noneÖ

    In general, the AKC will uphold the suspension if the Committee has followed the proper proceedures in arriving at their decision. (There is no requirement for the decision to be unanimous, although I've never heard of one that wasn't.)

    What Swampcollie said.....

    If the three charges are proven, the committee MUST bring forth a guilty verdict. The suspension, its length, and any fine involved will be implemented by an AKC subcommittee.

    I have been on a comittee hearing where the decision was not unanamious, decision was upheld by AKC and person was suspended and fined. Happened at a hunt test and not worth it to go into details but AKC supports the majority decision.
