i start with retired singles as soon as the dog is marking singles well. i think they pick it up faster that way.
using a flat area with little or no cover, retire the gun while the dog is enroute, then just before you send,then hand throw a second mark and have the gun retire as the dog returns with the hand thrown,finally you retire the gun as soon as they complete the throw.(something you see in trials).
that's the teaching part; now add a couple years of additional training and you got it! :wink: -paul
