    Default National Am Chocolate Comedy

    True Story
Jim Darnell and I are outside of the workers party discussing the days activities. A woman approaches and asks us what type of dogs are in these trucks.

Jim replies that we have retrievers. She proceeds to tell us how she runs the local dog rescue program. Her exact quote

"I have a lot of retrievers, everyone drops off their chocolates!"

We laughed loudly and she did not get the joke.
Dogs have brought me some great friends

Erik, you've always seemed to be a level-headed kind of guy, when did your sense of humor become so twisted?

I hope you told that nice rescue lady about all the chocolates competing in the National Amateur!

Speaking of brown dogs, here is one to look out for in the future. His name is, Brew Of St. James Gate. Call name is Stout. He has run one Derby so far and has 5 Derby points. He'll probably run two or three more. He's a dog that is awesome in training. He is so dark brown that when I put my sunglasses on, he looks black. Watch for Stout in the future. 8)

Sired by Nan Dool's Elwood Blues. I know the dam is well bred too, but don't remember her breeding at the moment. Stout was laying down some tough All Age marks last week when I saw him.

Java is an incredible animal. I had the privilege of whelping and raising that liter for Micheal Watson. Java is everything you would want in a lab. Competetive and an absolute lady within the family. She lived with us for a few months and is welcome back anytime.

I have a litermate of Stout's named Josie who has the ability to run a Derby/Q in the fall (if the handler/trainer has the ability to get her there, we're close).

Very nice animal, just like her Momma. I don't buy based on color, but color aside Java made it impossible to pass up a pup.

I would love to post a picture just do not have a clue.

Yes, she is QAA. I'm not sure what she did in Qualifying but she has an Open JAM. I beleive her owner is now working on getting her a MH.

Oh, and that is a funny story from the Nat'l Am.
