I believe San Antonio has made up for the two years of drought we had last year and the year before. The city gets 32.92 inches of rainfall in an average year. Rain totals for this year at 5:40 p.m. yesterday reached 33.43 inches and it is still raining. We probably had another 3 inches before 6:30 this morning and the 10-day forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms for the next 9 days.
We finally caught a 2-day break Monday and Tuesday when the rain let up just enough to frame and pour a slab for new kennels. I've been able to build the kennel panels under the covered patio but I had to erect them in the rain. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to build the roof over them yet so they are basically useless until this rain stops. Meanwhile, the dogs are all running loose in the yard and it is a muddy mess.
To compound the situation, my daughter went to Las Vegas for a week and dropped her three dogs off for me to board. One is an intact male and I have a female in heat. It just seems like when it rains it pours.
