What age when marking falls off?

Have been noticing the last two weeks that my 6yr just doesn't mark like he used to. I know it's been extremely hot here and it may be that he's just not wanting to work and is half #%% paying attention. At times he is missing the AFO by twenty yards and may wind the bird go in establish a short hunt but give up after a few seconds like he's not sure he went to the right place to hunt. This is on 80-100yr marks that usually he frontfoots. I've also noticed he doesn't hold a line on blinds like he used to either. I noticed this on Rebel when he turned 8yr, by 10yrs he couldn't hear and had cataracts. Had to drop down to just easy senior level stuff for him at that age just to be able to play. What do yall think?

I wouldn't worry to much. My mutts have pretty much been doing exactly what you explain.It has just been to hot to do to much.
