    It's official.

    Me and the redhead are headed to Italy the 19th and I'm planning on eating and drinking the whole dang place dry. Prolly gonna be a hard winter for some of them.
    We got the passports and tickets and are all set to leave for 2 weeks. Rome, Venice (with a boat ride to Murano), Verona, Florence, Pisa and back to Rome.

    Seriously, I am CRANKED!!!!! and 2 years of the C-Willie diet is gonna get put on HOLD.

    Oh man, bring me back some pasta and some wine and some shoes and a smoldering hot looking one of those guys that steer the boats on the canals and some nice glass and a really nice shotgun and could I just go with you????

    What a great way to abandon chemical memories. And if you're lucky you might just find a pair of stork pink chandeliers in Murano to decorate the old living room (my mother in law did). My parents lived in Italy for seven years when I was still a kid and I've always loved it. Several years ago I took my father and son back after my dad finished a round of chemo. One of our best trips ever and high on my list of cherished memories.

    My first reaction was one of unabashed horror. But now that I've had time to ponder on it, this trip could be a huge step for world peace. Goodness knows if there are any hidden terrorist cells over there, Bubba's visit will flush 'em out for sure.
    Pssst - hey Bubba - the season on terrorists ends the 18th and I hear they taste like chicken...

    And when you're on the bus headed for the "sites", say hi to the young punk selling "all the dirty pictures of Pompeii". His 'solid gold' watch he sold me in '59, turned green in '60, right after my return to the states. Couldn't find him to wring his neck. Coulda cared less about the watch...only $10. But he musta used disappearing ink on those Pompeii pictures.

    Sure do miss that pic of Sofia.

    The wife and I spent our Honeymoon in Rome. 8 days of food and beverage. Once you get a map shoot me a PM with your email address and I will give you some great out of the tourist area restaurants.
