Box too small???

I have recently sold my 2 hole box. I was wanting to purchase a 3 hole but have done some thinking which is dangerous for me. My question "Is 3 holes too many for a box that is only 48" wide"? My truck (stepside) is only 48" and i can't do anything about it for now. That will only leave about 15" per box. I have Goldens and thay aren't that big - 55-60lbs but that still seems small. I am right? Any suggestions besides get a new truck.

I would say it is too small......but that's just me.

Seems too small to me. I can't envision a retriever being able to turn around in a box that narrow.

Minimum I would use for width is 21-22 inches ISM. The width of the old Kennel Aire wire crate was perfect at 22 inches. So at 3 x 22 you are at 66 inches. 48 is going to be small unless you are running miniture Goldens.

A lot of people get a cap with a side window that opens like a door. Put the kennels in sideways, open the window, open the kennel and let the dog walk out the back...Get kennels as wide as you want.

You can still get a new truck...
