Default End Grain Butcher Block (GDG)

Hey MooseGooser spice box looks good check this out
I made this a few days ago the purple heart sure was hard on the plainer
Hard Maple and Purple Heart end grain butcher block 11 1/2"- 7 1/2"- 1 3/4" thick
i put it on ebay but there is to many mass produced cutting boards on there it gets lost in the shuffle.

hey Gooser you build and sell or just build for family

This guy goes around under water to get old forest logs that sank in the old logging days. The wood is very expensive but might be pretty cool to work with for the things you make.Gooser, that spice rack thing was pretty dang good.Where do you guys get all that extra time?

I'm surrounded by woodworkeres in my family. My son-in-law is a custom furniture maker, specializing in Asian and Arts and Crafts works. He also makes bowls and decorative objects from various woods and old pieces of driftwood (ie: deck railing slats for a client from Wisconsin). My youngest son does a lot of things with purple heart, but his specialty is oak--gorgeous picture frames, multi-wood boxes, butcher blocks, etc. My oldest is just getting started, but has made some nifty smaller things. He just spent one day with my s-i-l learning how to turn or whatever woodworkers do with all those expensive toys they collect. The best thing is, I get a lot of really lovely Christmas gifts every year!

I have no pictures but I made some outstanding butcher blocks by cutting up an old, abandoned SHUFFLE BOARD!!!

Oh god, be careful what you ask for.!!!! Look what happened when someone asked him to post a picture of the snow around his house....

Gooser, I certainly hope your wearing pants when your doing all this? Also remember the rule of a safe wood shop. You don't want anything loose or dangling that could get caught by a saw or planer and hurt ya. We like ya too much to see you get hurt or injured. Also we have to keep Mrs. Gooser happy. Be safe out there....
